  1.  1.44 MB LINUX BOOTDISKS

  3.  To install Linux, you'll need a bootdisk and a rootdisk.  The bootdisk
  4.  has to contain drivers that support your hardware, so you'll have to select
  5.  the most appropriate disk for your system.  NOTE: it's best to use the
  6.  disk with the least drivers possible to save memory.
  7.  
  8. README.TXT      This file contains information about the drivers in the
  9.                 various bootdisks, and instructions for using a bootdisk to
  10.                 start a system that isn't booting properly.
  11.  
  12. WHICH.ONE       A chart to help you select which bootdisk to use.

  14. ide-bat/        If your system does not have a SCSI controller, you'll want
  15.                 to use one of the IDE Slackware bootdisks.  To create one of
  16.                 these, select this option to switch into the ide-bat directory
  17.                 and choose a disk from the list.

  19. scsi-bat/       If your system has a SCSI controller, you'll need to use one
  20.                 of the SCSI Slackware bootdisks.  To create one of these, use
  21.                 this option to switch into the scsi-bat directory and then
  22.                 choose a disk from the list.

  24.   NOTE: The RAWRITE utility used to create the boot and root floppies does not
  25.         work under Windows95, so if you're running Windows95 you should restart
  26.         your machine in MS-DOS mode before attempting to make the disks.
